Oh dear, what can the matter be...

The wait goes on - this week we have whats known in the trade as a "cut off" low. A low that gets cut off from the typical west/east flow of the upper atmosphere and gets stuck. Depending on where they get stuck, they can be a blessing or a nightmare. This one gets stuck a tadge to the south-west of the UK and won't be moving til after the weekend - expect gash weather, gash waves and not a lot else.
